The Warriors Rise Ministry is an outreach to the Native American community but is not limited to one ethnic group.
Our goal is to minister to people from every tribe, from every tongue and from every nation on God’s green earth. Our primary focus is our Archery program. Certified through CenterShot Ministries and National Archery in the Schools program (NASP) we lead beginning archers through the proper shooting techniques. Through archery we share the simple gospel of Jesus Christ and our testimonies.
We travel as the Lord allows and where we are invited. Our heart is to use the archery as a “Bridge Builder.” Through pastor Mark Little Elk’s travels as a national Evangelist, he has concluded that there are many well-meaning and Bible-believing Churches that are willing to engage and enter Native American and cross-cultural ministries but in the Native American context it can be difficult to begin those conversations in light of historical trauma inflicted on the Native people within the last 200 plus years. The archery ministry is a healthy way to engage Native peoples. Pastor Mark has had breakthroughs with the bow and arrow as it is a more culturally relevant approach to evangelism. We hope to train and equip churches to use the archery program in their churches as a way to minister to Native American peoples.
On a local level, in Cass Lake where our church is we have a ministry every Thursday night called, “Bible, Beading & Bow group.” Along with teaching archery pastor Mark has taught and trained members of the church to teach a Native American Beadwork class. The evening begins with pastor Mark sharing a Bible lesson then everyone is free to either participate in archery in our lower level of the church and or learn how to do beadwork. Before the night ends, we meet for prayer, and we are blessed as we have seen many prayers answered through this ministry. This Thursday night ministry is blessed to see people of all ages come every Thursday. We have 4th graders all the way up to grandmas sitting around the table learning and sharing craft ideas.
Pastor Mark extends an invitation to all who want to join in on the many ministry opportunities. The local Christian colleges have connected with us and now their students seeking a cross-cultural degree or who are looking to acquire outreach credits can meet their requirements here at the church for helping out and they get to learn more about the local Native American peoples and the ministry there.
